In this thrilling bout of athletic prowess, each church that enters the Olympics will put forth their greatest grumbler. They will find their best complainer, the person who is never happy, never tired of whining and forever spreading verbal vinegar or paragraphs of poison and then put them on top of a platform. The platform will be ten feet high and will be sticking out of a pool of Miracle Whip and Cinnabons. (Miracle Whip is like mayonnaise’s underachieving cousin and Cinnabons smell roughly 900% better than they actually taste. So as they’re falling the loser will briefly think they’re about to land in a delicious cinnamon roll. Nope. Just a Cinnabon slathered with Miracle Whip.)
Calling it "one of the biggest fare sales in the company's history," Southwest launched an unusual airfare sale for fall travel.
The Dallas-based airline's sale is based on travel miles, offering customers one-way prices of $30, $60 and $90 depending on how far the flight goes. For flights up to 400 miles, the price is $30; between 400 and 750 miles, the cost is $60; and for more than 750 miles, the ticket is $90.
Customers must travel between Sept. 9 and Nov. 18 and weekend dates are blacked out. The sale also only lasts for the next two days.
Farecompare.com chief executive Rick Seaney said he expects major carriers to match Southwest's fare sale, even if it is for this short period of time.
"The meaning of this sale: it is one indication that airlines are by no means out of the woods yet - as oil prices remain volatile and demand precarious," Seaney said in his morning e-mail.

I recently started following a blog titled unclutterer that is about "about getting and staying organized." They posted the video below that I thought I would pass along. Enjoy...
Imagine this... You are on a plane, about to take off, and the pilot comes over the PA announcing a delay due to a mechanical problem. He predicts an 8 hour delay while they wait for a qualified mechanic to be flown in to fix the problem...
How would you react if another passenger volunteered to fix the problem?
This is an excerpt from an important article that you should read.
I don’t mean to slight Michael Jackson’s once-formidable talent, nor do I dismiss his troubled personal life. But have we become so frivolous as a nation that any entertainer’s tragic and untimely death warranted more news coverage — day after day after day — than the real issues that will confront each of us now and in the all-too-near future? Apparently so. Most of us know more about the last two days of Jackson’s life than we know about the negotiations in which Washington forced GM and Chrysler into bankruptcy. You certainly know more about Jackson’s death that the names on the list of the 25 individuals who destroyed the world’s financial system. Of course, none of the 25 has died; they still work at the same jobs.
