Could you live like Jesus for a year?
I read this article online at USA Today.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Rev. Ed Dobson has spent most of his life following Jesus. But only now does he realize how hard it is to live like him.
The retired megachurch pastor and one-time architect of the religious right has spent the last year trying to eat, pray, talk and even vote as Jesus would. His revelation: Being Jesus is tough.
"I've concluded that I am a follower, but I'm not a very good one," Dobson said. "If you get serious about the Bible, it will really mess you up."
But a year of living like Jesus has affected Dobson in deeply spiritual and unexpected ways.He has witnessed for Jesus in bars, picked up strangers needing rides and voted for a Democrat who he believes best reflects Christ's teachings. During recent Christmas celebrations, as Christians worshipped the Christ child born in a manger, Dobson appreciated more than ever the man who preached love, only to die on a cross.

Ty Pennington & the Extreme Makeover crew are working nearby...
Learned yesterday that a local family is getting a new home from Ty Pennington & The Extreme Home Makeover crew. The house is 1.1 miles from us as the crow flies, about 2.3 mile drive.
You can learn about the family and the project HERE.

Nephew Brett's Baptism
This past weekend Mary and I made a whirlwind trip to San Antonio to see my nephew Brett's baptism. I thought I would share some pics & video for the family that were not able to attend. The service was outdoors and I was a little far away so the quality is not great, but for those that were not there it is better than nothing.
By the way, it was about 59 degrees when Sherman and Brett got in the water (and yes, it was Sherman that baptized him)...
First the video.
And now the photos...
