The Credit Crisis Explained

A blog I regularly read had this video explaining the current credit crisis. I thought it did a great job of making it easy to understand. It takes about 11 minutes to watch, but you will better understand this mess after watching it.

Poor, Poor Kensington

Kensington is our English Springer Spaniel (see her normal photo on the right side of this page). Kensington leads a sheltered life here in Casa Bryant. She is waited on hand and foot and her primary activity is finding the best place to lay on her back so her humans can have easy access when scratching her belly. In other words, she is spoiled.

This week Kensington is getting challenged. We have some friends that are in the US on furlough from Hanoi, Vietnam. Sherman and Becky have two young daughters, Hannah and Allison. For some reason the girls decided that they would like to "babysit" Kensington for a couple of days. After getting her all prettied up we finally took her over there today.

Well, I am not sure how much she is enjoying herself, but I do know the kids are having fun playing with her. Becky sent the picture below a little earlier. Every time I look at it I laugh. To me it is like she is giving the camera a "someone please save me" look.

I hope you get a chuckle out of it as well.

Prepare to be entertained...

Here is the scenario: a 7 year old boy needs to have a tooth removed. He is nervous about the procedure so his dad takes along the video camera to record before/after of the surgery. He records this video of his son coming out of anesthesia as they drive home. The second video is a remix of the first with a little music added.

Could you live like Jesus for a year?

I read this article online at USA Today.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Rev. Ed Dobson has spent most of his life following Jesus. But only now does he realize how hard it is to live like him.

The retired megachurch pastor and one-time architect of the religious right has spent the last year trying to eat, pray, talk and even vote as Jesus would. His revelation: Being Jesus is tough.

"I've concluded that I am a follower, but I'm not a very good one," Dobson said. "If you get serious about the Bible, it will really mess you up."

But a year of living like Jesus has affected Dobson in deeply spiritual and unexpected ways.

He has witnessed for Jesus in bars, picked up strangers needing rides and voted for a Democrat who he believes best reflects Christ's teachings. During recent Christmas celebrations, as Christians worshipped the Christ child born in a manger, Dobson appreciated more than ever the man who preached love, only to die on a cross.
